This morning we docked in Malaga, Spain. Malaga, pronounced with the accent on the first syllable, MALaga, is on the southern tip of Spain. It’s not far from Morocco, which is where we will be tomorrow. Because we had credit on board the ship, we decided to take a tour of Malaga’s Vintage Car and Hat Museum.
The Museo Automovilistico de Malaga. It was quite fun. It seems this guy (never heard his name) decided to collect cars and his wife decided to collect haute couture clothing to go along with the displays. We saw lots of cars and lots of Gucci, Valentino, YSL, Dior, and other designer clothing from the 1920’s onward. Here are a few pictures. Because it was a ship‘s bus tour, there is always something “extra“ added. In this case it was a 2 hour drive around the city. Ok….I get bored easily. Just take me to the museum and let’s get on with it….that doesn’t happen; which is the main reason I don’t do bus/ ship tours often.

A Morris Minor out front!

Roscoe’s favorite. An Aston Martin DB4.

A Fiat500.

Hood Ornaments

Maserati 1950 model A6-1500.

John Lennon’s Rolls Royce….not really, it’s a replica.

Just some of the fashions!
Now for the making memories part. Malaga, being the home of Pablo Picasso, also has a Picasso Art Museum. So, Roscoe and I decided to buy tickets and go to the museum in the afternoon. We walked over to the museum. The lines were huge. One line for the internet purchase and one to buy tickets. We decided to go on line, buy tickets for an hour later, go eat and then return. To make a very long story short…we bought tickets, ate, came back, stood in line for 15 minutes, got to the door and discovered that we had spent 25€ on 2 tickets to the Picasso Museum in Barcelona!! For years when we travel and something goes wrong, we try to shrug it off and say, we’re making memories. Because that’s what we’re doing. We will never forget that we didn’t see the Picasso’s in Malaga.😁
Now, for a few pics of the city, the Roman ruins, the Moorish palace and the bull fighting ring.

The Romans were here. Really they were everywhere. Above the theater is La Alcazaba…built by the Moors around the 8th century. The Moors were driven out in 1492. Ferdinand and Isabella ( remember them?) were the rulers. I learned this year that they were also responsible for the Spanish Inquisition.

Bull fighting takes place in August.

It was 100F today- also a Saturday. The beach was busy.

A view of the City.

Me, ordering our 8€ lunch. You had to pay by putting the money in a machine. The employees did not handle the money. The sandwich was very good. The dessert was a pastry, it’s not on the plate, I had to go back for it.

View as we leave port.

Hey!! I need a couple of those dresses for our next girls cruise. Actually we all need some. We miss you much. Your pool was delightful today.
