People

This is just a short post about people we’ve met. Most every night we go to dinner in the dining room. I’ve shown you our wait staff. While we don’t sit with others, we sit close to Dorothy and Barbara. They’re two lovely women from southern Australia. Dorothy is 83, has two grown children. Barbara is a little younger and had 3 children, but lost a son. Dorothy is a widow and travels with Barbara, who is single. They’re grandmas and play bridge daily. Dorothy has been cruising for over 40 years. This last year she has had to use a walker and it makes her very unhappy. She loves to Garden and does some beautiful sewing. Barbara tells me Dorothy was a professional seamstress. I told her she was a real pistol in her younger years. And I’m sure she was. Anyway they’re both delightful. We had formal night a couple of nights ago and took pictures. I will miss them. They are just so sweet and kind. I told Dorothy that I spend too much time in my room, she said it was because I still had Roscoe to cuddle with! And then she smiled.

Cruise staff. Being on a cruise this long is much different than being on a 1 or 2 week cruise. We get to know the staff. Here’s Amy, part of the entertainment staff, from Liverpool, her boyfriend, Stefan, who is from Eastern Europe and just got back on the ship, he’s a bartender and she met him on another ship . Then there’s Jed, from England and Rafa from Brazil. They’re part of the entertainment staff too! All really nice kids who seem to enjoy their work.
