Well, I know you haven’t heard from us for a few days. We stopped in Invergorden on Friday. Roscoe and I took a bus into Inverness and spent a few hours just walking around. Doing our usual. We went to a drug store and bought lots of cold medicine. While I was worried about his cold, mine has refused to leave.

We went to a coffee shop and I had a scone! It was good. We spent some time in a cemetery, I love looking at old headstones and then we headed back to Invergorden. The word, inver means “ mouth of the river”. So Invergorden is a small town at the mouth of the Gordon river. Inverness is at the mouth of the Ness River. And you guessed it, the home of the Loch Ness Monster. We brought Nicole here in 2012, I think. However at that time, we were visiting castles and looking for the monster!

Yesterday we were supposed to drop anchor outside of Lerwick, Scotland. If you read the books or watch the series, The Shetlands, you will be familiar with the island. The home of the detective, Jimmy Perez. However, due to the huge waves on the North Atlantic, we were unable to get into the harbor and spent the day at sea. We spent today at sea also. My new experience for the day was playing darts. Our Australian/ Scottish friends, Syd and Anna, bought darts and we played with them and Gary and Liz after morning trivia. It was a great time. We then had lunch, went to our room in the afternoon to watch the GP at Spa, and then we played Progressive trivia at 4. We all had to wear hats for an extra point. Tomorrow, we will dock on Akureyri, Iceland. It is presently 40 degrees and getting colder. So much for our exciting 3 days. Oh and at night we’re on season two of Murdoch Mysteries. A series I downloaded before we left home. I think we have 247 episodes to go!

The stores make kilts. They have over a thousand different clan plaids.

Invergorden is full of murals. Quite a sleepy little town.
