We docked in Marseille today. It is on the southern side of France. I hired a guide, Kathy, and a driver, Bruno, to take us to Aix en Provence for the day. Aix is a French term for water and is pronounced “X”. We had a great day and finished at Chateau La Coste Winery For lunch and a wine tasting. The winery had 4 restaurants and numerous art installations. It is also an organic winery.

As all of you know, I read….a lot. One of the series I read was Murder en Provence, by M.L. Longworth. It is also a tv series on Britbox. The main characters are Antoine Verlaque, a magistrate and Marine Bonnet, a law professor. They reside in Aix en Provence, which is where we were today. This fountain, le quatro dalphines, is close to where they live. As you know, my make believe characters are like family to me.

This door was carved in 1672.

3 photos of the daily market on the square.

2 pictures of the Cathedral. During the revolution it became the church of reason.

Our guide, Kathy, is an ex Pat and has lived in France 37 years. This alley “elbow room” is written about in the books.

Bruno, our driver. toursbylocals.com never lets us down.

Roscoe is a great traveling companion.

Wine tasting at Chateau La Coste. We bought 3 bottles of white!

Lunch! Yes every post will have us eating.

A Calder Mobile at the winery. There were numerous art exhibits and installations. We could have spent the whole day there.

it was another hot, sunny day
