A day out of order, Monday, July, 31st. Akueyri, Iceland

This is what I wrote on Monday and was frustrated 3 times trying to post. It’s 4 days later and I will try to get the pictures in.

Today is Monday, the last day of the month. Tomorrow will be the beginning of our third month at sea. We had a great day yesterday. I want o show you pictures. It was “hat” day at trivia. I am enclosing a picture of our team. This was the second day of progressive trivia. We scored 16 out of of 20. So we have a cumulative score of 34 out of 40. 😢probably not enough to win. After trivia, we went to the Wheelhouse and played darts. We had a fun time. We then met the team for dinner and even stayed up for the 9:30 show. A soul music rendition by an artist from NYC, Neils Lawrence. So all that was yesterday.

Today we slept in and then walked into Akureyri. We had a great walk and went to the botanical garden, met a wonderful dog and his owner. We visited the Catholic and the Protestant churches and had fish and chips for lunch. FYI, everything is very expensive in Iceland. The fish and chips were $17 for one serving. Magnets were $7. About double what we pay everywhere else. Only about 500,000 people live in Iceland and it is a beautiful, beautiful country. It sits on a tectonic plate and has hundreds of small volcanoes each year. There are hot pools of water everywhere, ergo, free electricity. Tomorrow I will show you pictures of the Sky Lagoon.

We’re now back at the ship, Roscoe is napping and I’ve got great WiFi (a rarity) so I will post some pictures.

We met an Icelandic woman and her dog. I didn’t get her name, but his was Ashklass, (I'm sure the spelling is wrong). He is either named after a gnome or it means gnome….not sure which. He is a King Charles Cavalier and is 4 years old. Shehas had him for 2 years. He was so sweet and kind. I told her about a Ritz and how we stilled missed him. Notice my roots, I still haven’t done them. Maybe this afternoon.
